We are seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney, licensed in the State of Georgia, with at least 2 years of experience, including motion practice experience, who is passionate about helping people. Ideal candidates have 2 or more years of experience in criminal law or have strong litigation experience and can demonstrate the ability to learn quickly. We are looking for a team player willing to take ownership of a client’s case, including direct contact with clients and opposing counsel, drafting pleadings, conducting investigations, arguing motions, pretrial hearings, and trials. You will need to have strong skills in the following areas: research, writing, courtroom presentation, and common technology. Skills and experience are appreciated and valued, and certainly considered, but your personality, character, intelligence, and integrity are also extremely important considerations. Responsibilities: • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings • Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients Qualifications: • Candidates must have passed the bar exam • Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base • Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients • Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 yearly
