We are seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney, licensed in the State of Georgia, with at least 2 years of experience, including motion practice experience, who is passionate about helping people. We are not your typical small law firm. Our forward-thinking law firm is poised for aggressive growth, and we’re looking for an attorney who can hit the ground running to give clients outstanding representation. Ideal candidates have 2 or more years of experience in criminal law or have strong litigation experience and can demonstrate the ability to learn quickly. We are looking for a team player willing to take ownership of a client’s case, including direct contact with clients and opposing counsel, drafting pleadings, conducting investigations, arguing motions, pretrial hearings, and trials. You will need to have strong skills in the following areas: research, writing, courtroom presentation, and common technology. Skills and experience are appreciated and valued, and certainly considered, but your personality, character, intelligence, and integrity are also extremely important considerations. Responsibilities: • Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action • Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals • Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings • Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff Qualifications: • Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients • Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school • Candidates must have passed the bar exam • Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 yearly
