Responsibilities: What You’ll Own • Take complete control of criminal defense cases—no hand-holding, no excuses. You own the strategy, execution, and outcome • Build aggressive, airtight defense strategies that pressure the prosecution and create real leverage early • Command the client relationship—set expectations, drive decisions, and lead every interaction with authority • Draft sharp, strategic motions and pleadings that force movement and shift momentum in your favor • Negotiate to win—push for dismissals, major reductions, or outcomes that materially change your client’s position • Dominate in court—deliver precise arguments, control cross-examinations, and perform under pressure without hesitation • Stay ahead or fall behind—continuously track legal developments and outwork opposing counsel, every time Qualifications: Who This Role Is Built For • JD and an active Texas law license in good standing • 1–3+ years of criminal defense or litigation experience with real courtroom exposure and independent case responsibility • You’ve practiced in a traditional firm or led your own office, and you’re ready to spend your time practicing law rather than managing overhead, fee disputes, or administrative noise • You bring strong research, writing, and negotiation skills.
