A growing criminal defense practice is seeking a motivated and resilient attorney to join its team in the Dallas area. This role offers hands-on litigation experience across a wide range of criminal matters, with the opportunity to take ownership of cases early in your career while building strong courtroom and investigative skills.

What You’ll Do
- Manage a diverse caseload of criminal defense matters (misdemeanor and felony)
- Represent clients in hearings, pre-trial motions, and court appearances
- Conduct legal research, case strategy development, and evidence review
- Perform client meetings, jail visits, and case preparation
- Negotiate plea agreements and support trial preparation (including second chair opportunities)
- Conduct and support investigations related to assigned cases
- Collaborate with paralegals and internal team members to move cases forward efficiently
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel
What the Day-to-Day Looks Like
- Significant time spent in court and traveling between counties (approximately 4 days/week out of office)
- High level of autonomy in managing your schedule and caseload
- Ability to work remotely between court appearances using provided technology
- Exposure to a wide range of cases, from domestic matters to more complex criminal charges
- Fast-paced, hands-on environment with real responsibility early
What We’re Looking For
- Licensed to practice law in Texas
- 1–5 years of experience preferred (open to strong early-career attorneys)
- Interest in criminal defense and litigation
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a high-volume caseload
- Willingness to travel throughout the North Texas region
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and follow-through
- Comfortable taking initiative, including investigative work and case ownership
