Position Overview: We are seeking a bilingual, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Bilingual Criminal Defense Paralegal & Client Service Specialist. This role combines case management, client interaction, and performing consultations with prospective clients, all while delivering exceptional service. Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential for this position. Responsibilities: • Accept other administrative tasks as needed to assist the team and ensure the firm runs smoothly • Conduct legal research, when necessary, with guidance from attorneys and paralegals • Assist with the creation of various litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents a needed • Process client billing properly using daily time records with help from the accounting department • Schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, make travel arrangements, and coordinate with outside vendors for events • Manage and organize legal cases, ensuring all documents are accurate and up-to-date. • Conduct consultations with individuals seeking legal guidance. • Draft legal documents and correspondence for attorney review. • Communicate with courts and clients regarding case updates, including escalated cases. • Meet monthly benchmarks for consultations and overall client acquisitions. • Assist with inbound calls and route them appropriately. • Maintain an efficient filing system for legal documents and collaborate with attorneys to support case strategy. Qualifications: • Associate’s degree, or some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is necessary • Comfortable working with all Microsoft Office products • Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with quick turnaround times • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a law firm or office environment as an administrative assistant or secretary • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (Required). • Minimum 1 year of paralegal/case management experience at a criminal defense law firm. • Strong communication skills, outgoing personality, and ability to thrive in a high-paced work environment. • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy. • Resourceful and proactive problem solver with the ability to multitask effectively.
