    PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT / SUPERVISING COUNSELOR

    Crisis Services of Erie County is the most comprehensive crisis center in upstate New York. Crisis Services fulfills community needs through program services including a 24 hotline, Emergency Mobile Outreach, Trauma Response Services, and other programs. Through these and other programs, Crisis Services works to be the best agency to address issues related to emergency mental health by decreasing hospitalizations, suicides, violence, homelessness and other issues that accompany these social ills.

    The credit for our success since 1968 goes to our excellent staff and volunteers who work long and difficult hours to provide these services. We are fortunate to have people dedicated to this work and who demonstrate commitment to improving the quality of life in Erie County, and we are looking for another member to add to that same team and initiative.

    Crisis Services is seeking a Professional Development / Supervising Counselor to add to its dedicated staff of community support professionals! Working under the direction of the Director of the Crisis Counseling Program, the Professional Development / Supervising Counselor is responsible for the managing and executing of Training and Development programs/activities (internships, volunteers, new/existing staff training, development and accountability, etc.) in addition to the day-to-day and overall supervision and management of the Crisis Counseling Program (24-hour crisis hotline program).

    This Agency Leadership Team manager position provides a high level of debriefing support to both Bachelor/Masters level counselors, performance management to Crisis Service goals and metrics, and assistance with new employee training. Confidentiality and professionalism are paramount to ensure the integrity of the overall supervision and management of the Agency program.

    Qualified candidates are required to hold a Master's Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Mental Health Counseling or related degree. Additionally, appropriate licensure is preferred. A minimum of two years professional experience, preferably in the human service industry, with Mental Health Services. Professional development/training and Supervisory experience is preferred.
