The school opened in 2008 and now has nearly 300 students in grades 9 through 12. All students complete a challenging college preparatory curriculum and as part of Cristo Rey’s innovative Corporate Work Study program (CWS), spend one day per week engaged in a corporate work assignment at or on behalf of leading companies and not-for-profits throughout the NYC metropolitan area. Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School is a member of the national Cristo Rey Network of 38 high schools around the United States committed to similar academic and work study methodologies and outcomes.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
The Marketing Associate (Associate) reports to the CWS Vice President (VP), is an integral member of the CWS Team, working closely with other CWS staff, and regularly with the CRB President and Advancement staff, and other CRB personnel, board directors and supporters on a wide variety of work study business development and sustainability initiatives, policies, and programs. The Associate’s overarching objective is to support the VP in (i) fostering the recognition and growth of the CRB CWS as a high quality and cost-effective staffing option within the metro NY area business and civic community and (ii) sustain and extend the program’s reach and penetration to achieve program marketing, revenue and student placement and experiential learning goals.
The Associate will assist the VP (and others) with strategic planning, new job sales and retaining and growing existing partner relationships. This includes stewarding client relationships to cultivate new clients to achieve full and meaningful employment for all students, as well as ensuring the retention and growth of existing partners. This will include tasks and responsibilities such as:
Special Events: Assist with planning and execution of key CWS events
Communications:
Support CWS prospect cultivation, solicitation and renewals, including preparation of customized presentations and proposals
Working with Advancement, prepare and produce CWS marketing and collateral materials
Market Research
Database and CRM management and related reporting
Schedule: This is a year-round (12 month) position, Monday through Friday (with some evenings and weekends for events). The expectation is to work primarily on-site when not in the field calling on clients/prospects.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience in some or all these areas:
Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 1 – 3+ years of professional work experience
Background working with students of high school age and/or experience in marketing to/managing institutional client relationships
Strong strategic aptitude, innovative mindset, and thorough in managing daily tasks and ongoing projects. Not afraid to “think big” or “think outside the box” as we evolve the corporate work study model, with the understanding that we must remain true to mission and curate existing/long-standing client relationships
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to support various stakeholders, be proactive, and work collaboratively in a team setting
Familiarity with software programs such as Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
