    About Us

    We are Crosby & Kaneda, CPAs, an Oakland-based CPA firm focused on supporting the many wonderful nonprofits in the San Francisco Bay Area with audit, review, and tax services. Many of us have worked in the nonprofit field directly ourselves. We are a smaller firm and like to work in a collaborative, team-based manner.

    We have an opportunity for an Accounting Associate to join the team on a full-time, remote basis.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support of our financial statement audits and reviews.

    • Data cleanup, import, classification, and financial statement linking in our audit tool.

    • Support planning, fieldwork and wrap-up checklists and program completion for audits and reviews.

    • Assist with sample and assertion testing and other support activities.

    • Be proactive in managing time, job duties and asking for assistance when needed.

    • Conduct limited research for accounting and tax matters you are not familiar with.

    • Be available during the majority of our regular workday of 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Pacific Time) to allow for reliable collaboration.

    Qualifications:

    • ****Accounting background (education or experience).

    • ****Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

    • Strong technical skills including comfort with Microsoft Word and Excel as well as online platforms (SaaS)

    • Detail-oriented and hard-working.

    • Professional and personable with clients.

    • Accounting software experience (Quickbooks, Peachtree, FundEZ, etc.) a plus.

    • Bachelor's degree.

    • Pass an employment background check (Goodhire).

    • Reside in, and eligible to work within the US for any employer (we are currently unable to sponsor H1B, OPT or other visa applications). **

    This is a Remote work position:

    • You should be able to work in a relatively uninterrupted manner during the day with reliable, high-speed internet access.

    • A headset is encouraged to avoid echo cancellation.

    • Video access should be available.

    Compensation:

    • $22-$25 per hour DOE

    Days/Hours:

    • Monday to Friday - generally 8:30AM Pacific time to 5:00PM Pacific Time - we are willing to work with candidates in the United States, with a preference for candidates within 2 hours of our time zone.
    • Full-time (we do have some flexibility for 80% time if desired)

    • 401(k) immediately available, currently a 5% match after 1 year of employment
