    SUMMARY:   

    The Project Manager has overall accountability to deliver software application projects on time and within budget while ensuring that all agreed business objectives are met.

    The Project Manager understands the SDLC/PMLC models, plans/leads all specific activities part of the projects lifecycle and maintains detailed and accurate documentation as per the project standards. This individual is expected to lead multiple, concurrent projects balancing the workload based on priorities.

    The Project Manager is familiar with Agile methodology and well versed in vendor management.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   

    • Plans, organizes and manages projects from scoping phase to implementation.
    • Leads and directs cross-functional teams to deliver projects within the constraints of quality, scope, schedule and budget.
    • Reviews and secures approval for technical and functional documents and artifacts as deemed required for IT Governance and SDLC of the project and/or team.
    • Ensures all project deliverables are completed according to plan.
    • Works closely with business sponsors and assigned project team to evaluate the business scope/objectives, assess impacts and develop the most cost-effective and efficient solutions.
    • Develops detailed status reports and summarized executive updates.
    • Ensures alignment of project objectives and business needs with the project sponsors.
    • Develops, organizes and manages issues, risks, action items, change control and communication plans.
    • Coordinates project deliverables across all areas of the organization and with the vendor partners.
    • Alerts management to project issues such as cost, schedule or scope changes and negotiates resolutions to project issues where cost, schedule, scope or quality are at risk.
    • Monitors project budget against actual costs incurred.
    • Tracks project metrics to effectively manage scope, cost, quality and the schedule.
    • Identifies, documents and communicates lessons learned.
    • Manages all project related communications and produces/disseminates progress reports for various groups of stakeholders.
    • All other duties as assigned.

     

     

    Required Skills

     

    • Thorough working knowledge of project management lifecycle, and traditional & Agile PM methodologies
    • Strong vendor management skills
    • Leadership and management skills in leading technical personnel through the delivery of software development projects
    • Experience with numerous environments and architectures
    • Experience with requirements management & project management tools
    • Demonstrated leadership and attention to detail skills through prior experience at the strategic and tactical/implementation levels
    • Strong analytical and planning skills/experience with IT projects
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and vendors
    • Strong work ethics and commitment to get work done.

    Required Experience

     

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, General Information Technology or a related field
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project management/business analysis with software development projects, or relevant combination of education and experience.
    • Knowledge of and hands-on experience with Web and integration technologies
    • Exposure in vendor relationship management required.
    • Preferred: PMP certification and formal training in negotiation/facilitation skills
    • Preferred: Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt) certifications is a plus
    • Preferred: Agile/Scrum master certification or understanding
