Educational and Behavioral Service Coordinator
Summary: Crossroads Continuum is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with autism and related disorders from birth through adulthood. Crossroads Continuum provides services with the vision of ensuring people with autism and related disorders participate in their social communities and lead fulfilling lives. Crossroads School is a program of Crossroads Continuum and is a private, non-profit extended year day school that is approved by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). We serve students ages 3-22 in a bright school environment. All educational and behavior change programming is based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
As part of the Crossroads School program, the Educational and Behavioral Service Coordinator (EBSC) oversees and ensures Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs), individualized behavior guidelines, and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) are effectively implemented. The EBSC is responsible for supervising Special Education Teachers, ensuring student progress is evaluated on a systematic basis, and using the findings to ensure each student’s individualized programs are effective.
Our Educational and Behavioral Service Coordinators are responsible for:
Overseeing assessments of academic skills and problem behavior.
Making data-based decisions for changes to behavior reduction programs and identifies/designs functional alternative target skills for students.
Supervising assigned Special Education Teachers in the completion of their responsibilities.
Providing ongoing training to direct care staff as well as collaborating with other BCBAs to develop and deliver school wide initial and refresher trainings.
Ensuring classroom staff implement clinical and educational programming with a high level of fidelity.
IEP & Curriculum Development and serving as the primary liaison for communication with school district officials.
Partnering with school district personnel to schedule and co-chair IEP and Team meetings.
Preparing Peer Review presentations for students on caseload and leading a group of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) in a focused problem-solving discussion.
Partnering with in-house SLPs, OTs and PTs to ensure consistency of interventions.
Collaborating with Crossroads Home and Center-based Departments to promote consistency in student homes and afterschool programs.
Providing parent training where appropriate and necessary.
Working closely with a small group of Directors on school-wide initiatives and systems building.
Physical Requirements:
The ability to move quickly and confidently to intervene when protective holds and/or movements are necessary.
The ability to pursue a bolting student.
The ability to successfully complete CALM training, which requires:
Lifting half of body weight.
Pivoting
Squatting
Kneeling; including remaining in kneeling position for an extended time and standing from kneeling while supporting student weight without pushing off ground with hands.
Shuffling frontwards and backwards.
Assisting a student to the floor.
Stabilizing a student in a standing, seated, prone, or supine position.
Requirements:
Masters in behavior analysis, education, or related field.
Certified as a BCBA, Licensed as an Applied Behavior Analyst in Massachusetts (LABA), current Massachusetts teaching certification (preferred).
At least 5 years teaching, clinical, and supervisory experience in the ABA treatment of autism.
Proof of immunizations required.
Must have good organizational skills coupled with interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in computer skills in Microsoft Office products.
