Crossroads Continuum was originally established in 2002 as a school providing individualized, comprehensive education and related services and has since grown as a multi-service organization working with individuals of all ages and their families in their homes, communities, and other settings.
Job Summary: The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for developing and implementing OT goals and objectives of Individualized Education Programs (IEP’s) to meet students’ needs. The OT also ensures student progress is evaluated on a systematic basis and that the findings are used to make programmatic improvements. In addition, the OT is also responsible for providing both direct and consultative occupational therapy for students. Throughout all programming, the OT demonstrates an understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and uses ABA-based techniques in service delivery.

Responsibilities:
Provide direct individual, group, and consultative services.
Consistent and effective communication with the team, staff, and parents.
Develop and implement occupational therapy programming.
Write Progress Reports quarterly for students on caseload.
Perform assessments and evaluations of students (three-year evaluations and initial assessments).
Develop occupational therapy goals, objectives, and service delivery.
Attend and participate in team and staff meetings including student days and IEP’s.
Use best practices in the field of occupational therapy and applied behavior analysis in program planning and implementation.
Physical Requirements: In order to complete the CALM course and become certified, participants must successfully perform the following maneuvers.
Pivots
Knee squats
Shuffling backwards and forwards
Supporting weight
Stand from a kneeling position while supporting student weight (without pushing off the ground/stabilizing hands on the ground)
Remain in kneeling position for an extended period of time
A descending lunge while carrying weight
Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Knowledge of ABA-based teaching procedures is preferred.
Applicants must hold a current Massachusetts Occupational Therapy license and certification by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
At least two years of relevant experience is preferred.
Must be punctual, caring, compassionate, and hard working.
Must have good organizational skills coupled with interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, eager to learn new skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, proficiency in computer skills in Microsoft Office products, ability to prioritize and multitask, and maintain strict confidentiality of information.
