    Begun in 2012, Crossword Hobbyist (https://crosswordhobbyist.com) and My Word Search (https://mywordsearch.com) are the best way to make crossword puzzles and word searches online.  They are run by the company founder, with the help of a part-time customer service employee.

     

    Content Writer Job Summary

    The content writer will have ownership over the company’s inbound marketing efforts:

    • Researching and creating evergreen content for sites/blogs
    • Ensuring blog content + layout are user- and SEO-friendly
    • Conducting SEO research to drive editorial calendar
    • Building relationships with bloggers
    • Developing social media following
    • Creating and managing puzzle contests
    • Handling incoming PR opportunities

    Content Writer Requirements and Qualifications

    • Excellent written communication skills
    • Flawless spelling and grammar: there is no editorial oversight, and much of the target market is English teachers
    • Self-motivated and self-directed
    • Serious SEO skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Bachelor’s degree, 3.5+ GPA
    • 3+ years’ experience writing for a corporation or agency
    • Detailed understanding of what motivates online customers
    • A love of learning new things
    • An understanding of formatting web articles, blogs, and other online content
    • Experience with WordPress or another CMS strongly preferred

     

    Fit

    The job is all remote work with fully flexible scheduling, ~30hrs/wk.   That should make you think “Wha-pow! That’s just what I was looking for!”  If it makes you think “I’m not sure I’ll work hard without someone looking over my shoulder,” this is not the right fit for you.
