    JOB SUMMARY

    The Trade Analyst’s substantive focus will involve global import compliance. This includes tariff classification and import regulatory matters. Under the direction of the team’s senior staff, or attorneys, the incumbent will interact regularly with clients, vendors and government agency employees.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    •    Assists senior specialists and attorneys with all aspects of trade remedy filings (to include Section 232/301 matters), customs administrative filings, inquiries and audits, import regulatory matters and compliance.  •    Collects, enters, and presents data using spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.  •    Prepares Section 232/301 exclusion requests, objects, rebuttals, and surrebuttals; U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) ruling requests, protests, CF 28/29 responses and other CBP filings.  •    Classification of items under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), including proper application of the General Rules of Interpretation (GRIs), and section & chapter notes.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Education The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs, International Business, Economics, or related field. 

    Experience Minimum of 1 year any of the following: •    Experience in international trade and policy. Including import regulatory matters, free trade agreements, trade policy, export control and regulations, economic sanctions.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    •    Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, proficiency in the use of MS Access, and basic knowledge of statistical sampling techniques to independently produce complex reports.   •    Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts, regarding matters of a complex nature. Requires patience, creativity and discretion. •    Intermediate knowledge of other MS programs to produce quality written communications such as memos, slides, and other standard work documents.  •    Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing. •    Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements. •    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. •    Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines, and managing workload. •    Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic, and friendly manner to accomplish position functions and participate in team efforts.
