    JOB SUMMARY

    Claims Recovery (Project ) Assistants are assigned to the Antitrust Practice Group, and are expected to assist paralegals and attorneys in the Claims Recovery team.  Claims Recovery (Project) Assistants have the opportunity to expand their skills as they gain work experience.  Claims Recovery (Project) Assistants have a minimum billing requirement of 1600 hours per year.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Research publicly available information (company websites, financial statements, other web-based research); compile, summarize and report findings.
    • Assist with creation, preparation and maintenance of claims information and status updates for various open matters.
    • Process matter documents by reviewing data for discrepancies, resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the supervising paralegal or attorney for further review and resolution.
    • Manage workflow for certain matters as assigned.
    • Draft, edit and proofread letters, memos and other correspondence and reports.
    • Provide data entry support on litigation databases and Excel spreadsheets.
    • Assist with quality checking of team work, including assignments completed by others.
    • Prepare and maintain databases and spreadsheets.
    • Assist team with data collection and analysis as requested.
    • Contribute to team effort by achieving required results with accuracy and in a timely manner.

    Assist with other assignments as directed and required by case teams.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with all levels of personnel.
    • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
    • Must possess the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate information with tact and courtesy as well as follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff.
    • Strong attention to detail, including superior spelling and grammar.
    • Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts, regarding {non-legal matters of a routine nature} requiring ordinary tact and courtesy.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic and friendly manner to accomplish position functions and participate in team efforts.
    • Intermediate knowledge of MS Suite to produce quality written communications such as memos, spreadsheets, slides, standard work documents.
    • Moderate typing skills.
    • Ability to work overtime as needed.

    EDUCATION

    The position requires a degree Bachelor’s Degree. 

    EXPERIENCE

    The position requires one year of directly related legal or administrative experience, during which the knowledge, skills and abilities relevant to the position were attained and demonstrated.

    Our Firm is committed to fair and equitable compensation practice in accordance with applicable laws. The salary for this position is $50,000. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus. Other benefits include healthcare, vision, dental, retirement, and all-purpose leave. The salary for this position may vary based on location, market data, an applicant’s skills and prior experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other factors.
