    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Facilities Security Officer is responsible for managing all national security related issues and ensuring that proper industrial security procedures are followed in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), JAFAN, ICD, internal customer policy and applicable government regulations and directives.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    •    Develops and implements policies, procedures, and training for protecting information, personnel, property, and facilities from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss. •    Develops and implements security plans for facility access by firm personnel, vendors, government personnel, clients, guests, and others. •    Develops and implements policies and procedures for analyzing and evaluating the character and background of firm personnel, candidates, and other persons having or seeking access to sensitive information, material, or facilities. •    Conducts surveys to assess compliance with firm and government requirements to store sensitive information and material. •    Determines and processes organizational and personnel clearance actions in accordance with firm and government policies and procedures; accesses relevant government security systems to accomplish the same. •    Conducts security training and briefings. •    Creates and maintains personnel security folders and ensures personnel clearances are actively maintained.  •    Couriers materials as needed. •    Updates and maintains all security policies and procedures. •    Works with firm leadership to ensure that all necessary security policies and procedures are implemented and followed. •    Processes all incoming/outgoing visit certifications and maintains visitor control database.  •    Issues courier authorizations and facility badges, and maintains key control. •    Maintains liaison with facilities, logistics, operations, corporate offices, local law enforcement, DoD, and IC communities. •    Integrates with firm staff, including compliance, human resources, information technology, and facilities. •    Supports attorneys practicing in areas involving sensitive government information. •    Conducts self-inspections. •    Prepares and maintains records for DSS inspections and supports all such inspections. •    Participates in Insider Threat Working Group and may be assigned as the Insider Threat Program Senior Official. •    Actively obtains and disseminates current information related to national security. •    Engages with national security organizations. •    Other administrative tasks as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Education The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree.  Equivalent training and experience may substitute for education.

    Experience  The position requires a minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible, directly related experience during which knowledge, skills and abilities applicable to the position were demonstrated.  

    Additional Requirements •    U.S. Citizenship.   •    Current FSO certification through DSS.   •    Obtaining and maintaining a clearance at the Secret level or higher is a requirement for continued employment.  •    Experience with JPAS/DISS, eFCL/ISFD/NISS, e-QIP, SWFT management.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    •    Demonstrated project management skills with an aptitude to coordinate a variety of initiatives and to reach established goals and objectives in a timely manner. •    Intermediate knowledge of MS suite to produce quality written communications such as memos, spreadsheets, slides, and standard work documents. •    Ability to apply technical knowledge or guidance, analyze and interpret data from several sources, solve problems by applying precedent or extrapolating from previous experience. •    Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements. •    Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines and managing workload. •    Ability to prepare reports and presentations, with guidance and upon receipt of moderate amounts of firm information. •    Demonstrated ability to make presentations to small and/or large groups in an effective manner. •    Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with attorneys, staff, vendors, and the public. •    Ability to work with confidential matters in an appropriate manner. •    Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic and friendly manner to accomplish position functions and participate in team efforts. •    Demonstrated ability to work with government representatives/inspectors.
