Qualifications
Required Skills
- Supports requirements maintenance of electromechanical actuation systems for use in aerospace and defense applications
- Reviews customer specifications, and assesses compliance of design to the requirements
- Understands FAA, EASA, or military certification requirements, and follows associated design / development processes
- Understands system safety, reliability, and maintainability aspects of the product
- Evaluates sub-assembly specification requirements from end item specifications, and evaluates requirements / test / code traceability using IBM Rational DOORS (Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System)
- Knowledge of performance modeling using Matlab / Simulink, PLECS or similar tools
Required Experience
- Understanding of manufacturing and design trade-offs (practical implementation of designs)
- Understanding of the dynamic behavior of electromechanical systems
- Familiarity with regulations, certification standards, design assurance, and systems standards such FAR 25, ARP4754, DO-254, DO-178C, MIL-STD-882E is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate, in writing and verbally, across functional areas.
- Flight controls understanding or experience is a plus
- DXL scripting for DOORS is a plus
- Systems design, development and integration experience is a plus
Education & Experience
- B S. in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering is required
- Basic understanding of aerospace and defense markets and requirements is preferred
- Must be able to work on U.S. government programs and/or obtain security clearance in the future
