    Job Description

     

    Crown is looking for a Microstation Designer with 5 or more years experience in designing 2D and 3D models, machine and assembly drawings, maps and schematics and 2 or more years experience in CAD software development.

    • Computer-aided design (CAD) drafters utilize computer-aided design systems to create technical drawings for building construction and product manufacturing. CAD drafters create detailed schematics that are utilized in the manufacturing of products and the construction of buildings. These detailed technical drawings incorporate the input of engineers, architects and surveyors and can specify dimensions, codes, materials and production methods.
    • Creating/documenting schematic diagrams and design layouts and incorporating engineering red lines to various drawing packages based on engineering specifications using Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) tools and methods. Examples of drawings include:
      • Rack & Elevation Level Drawings
      • Assembly & Machine Level Drawings
      • Schematic/Wiring Diagrams
      • Survey & GPS Data Maps
      • 3D Modeling & Animation
    • CAD drafters work within several different disciplines/specialties (i.e. Architectural, Civil, Mechanical). Generally, CAD drafters coordinate the collection of data and incorporate this information into drawings, schematics and maps. They consult with architects, engineers, surveyors and other workers while preparing and developing their drawings.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work with the manufacturing team in defining assembly processes and create assembly modeling packages.
    • Work with engineers to develop new the product designs in 2D and 3D.
    • Lead and multi-task with drafters on various projects.
    • Setup configurations, cells, blocks, templates, pen tables.
    • Maintain object-oriented parts database management system integrated in CAD
    • Able to convert verbal and written information into two or three dimensional drawings; accuracy and attention to detail are essential
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Completed at least a 2-year associate's degree program at a technical school or community college; completion of a bachelor's degree program can enhance opportunities. Coursework may include mathematics, science, drawing and design.
    • Proficient in Microstation and Sketchup, Rhino3D or similar 3D modeling tool required.

    PREFERRED SKILLS:

    • Autocad RIVET, BIM AND MEP is a plus.
    • Database management in SQL or Oracle.
    • GIS Data Collection.
    • Bentley Microstation V8i CAD Design Software.
    • Bentley Projectwise Explorer V8i Database
    • Trimble Pathfinder Land Surveying Software.
    • Civil 3D Engineering Software.
    • Bentley InRoads Modeling Software.
    • ArcGIS Spatial Data Software.
