Crown is hiring Full-Time and Part-Time SENIOR SECURITY SYSTEMS INSTALLATION TECHNICIANS to join our team of floating electronics and Tower installers. THIS POSITION IS 100% TRAVEL AND WILL BE ASSIGNED TO A GEOGRAPHICAL PART OF THE UNITED STATES, ITS POSSESSIONS AND TERRITORIES.

This position involves Installation work on guyed, monopole and large self-supporting towers such as communications towers,  as well as installation and maintenance/repair of electronics equipment including but not limited to Physical Security Access Systems and communications systems including UHF, VHF, HF and other radios.

The Senior Security Systems Technicians serves as security design and analysis analyst expert on small to medium size projects, to include reviews where security assessments are required. Acts as the expert in security system design and installation on small to medium size projects. Provides advice, counsel, and opinions on a wide variety of matters pertaining to security systems operations and systems management. May perform review services in one or more of the following areas: Security planning, Designing security controls, Operational security controls, Physical security, Risk analysis, System performance analysis, and New/Emerging technology.

This position requires a level of confidence to work in geographic isolation, so the candidate must have the technical knowledge and aptitude to create solutions in unique situations.

The Senior Security Systems Technician will receive technical advice from a Technical Manager and/or Engineer however, will still be expected to work largely in a stand-alone capacity due to the nature of the work, and will need to be a de-facto on-site Electronic/Communications Subject matter Expert (SME).

The job requirement is in support of multiple programs including but not limited  to the Security Systems Design and Integration II (SSDI-II)  Program, the UIS Tower Replacement Program, and the Air/Ground Communications program.

ALTHOUGH EACH INSTALLATION IS UNIQUE, TYPICAL DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Lead and Conduct  pre-installation meetings
• Prepare deliverables such as the Risk Management plan and/or site work plan.
• Removal and disposal of existing tower, security, and/or communications equipment
• Coordinate all activities including frequency outages as applicable.
• Install and test of new towers and equipment (e.g.,  radio racks and radios, security equipment) , along with other GFE Installation of new/upgraded conduit and cable trays
• Removal and replacement of antennas Installation  of  junction  boxes Electronics testing procedures
• Install and test grounding systems
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

The Senior Security Systems Installation Technician must have a minimum of fifteen years demonstrated experience three of which shall be within the last five years in systems security design, analysis, policy, and implementation.

The Senior Security Systems Installation Technician, providing corrective/preventative maintenance support, must have certifications in the core access control systems deployed as a part of the standard configuration within six months of contract award.

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

1. Physical Security Access Systems security systems and equipment from manufacturers including but not limited to Bosch, Zenitel, Securitron, Lenel, Axis.
2. Working knowledge of Physical Access Control Systems such as Intrusion Detection systems, intercom systems and metal detector systems.
3. Install Physical Access Control Systems while working in confined spaces.
4. Working knowledge of installation and test work associated with  guyed, monopole and self-supporting towers.
5. Climb Towers as high as 100 feet and have trained in Fall Protection. Perform tower rescue and climbing. Must be able to climb and work at heights in excess of 60’, and able climb towers to install Junction Boxes, Cabling, Antennas, Lightning Protection devices and grounding systems. Tower climbing jobs entail at-height risks, proper training programs and compliance with OSHA regulations are required by tower companiES. These skills can be learned through, BASIC COMPETENT CLIMBER (FALL PROTECTION) TRAINING, ADVANCED TOWER CLIMBER (FALL PROTECTION) TRAINING, CLIMBER RESCUE, EME (RF) AWARENESS, CPR, EMERGENCY PLANNING, and Equipment Operator’s license and more.
6. Work with, install and maintain Communication technology that includes antennas, cabling, testing.
7. Working knowledge of the software and alignment of VHF and UHF AM radios, as well as setup capability for the RCE (radio control equipment).
8. Perform inspections, maintenance and repair work.
9. Install communication cables, connectors and utilize test equipment for performance verification.
10. Install lightning protection systems.
11. Installing electrical components, conduit and work safely inside circuit breaker panels.
12. Read and interpret construction and installation drawings.
13. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
14. Work without supervision.
15. Be able to use equipment such as trenchers, elevated work platforms, and forklifts.
16. Perform Cad-Welding.
17. Resolve issues with the clients that is beneficial to the owner and their clients.
18. Promote strong customer service.
19. Work with cable reels, stripping tools and trenching machines.
20. Utilize industry standards for wiring methods for equipment.
21. Communicate well with supervision and the customer.
22. Thorough understanding in the use of manual and power tools, test equipment such as multi-meter, ohmmeter, power meter, oscilloscope, etc.
23. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel.
24. An understanding and ability to connect Telco requirements (including Commercial Telco, RCL, Field Cable, Fiber Optics, etc.).
25. Able to take initial electronic baseline readings and generate the necessary paperwork FRDF (Facility Reference Data File), IAW Initial Tolerances described in the Technical Handbooks provided by the FAA for the various systems.
26. Ability and/or experience to interface with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), both Air Traffic and Technical Operations, during an installation and follow the provided engineering package and participate in any changes that may have to be implemented in thefield.
27. Able to provide leadership during a site installation, which may include multiple installation and/or construction crews, and able to effectively communicate to installation crew and management with the ability to manage the many stakeholders’ expectations.
28. An understanding of the practical implications of electrical and electronic circuitry, and have the experience and the ability to read, understand and implement engineering diagrams and electrical wiring diagrams.
29. Ability to trouble-shoot electrical and electronic equipment necessary within the scope of a radio replacement project and/or technical refresh.
30. Able stand, sit or crouch in one position for long periods of time. Able to lift and move objects up to 75 lbs. Physically Lift as much as 50 pounds over their head.
31. Able to move objects with the use of hand truck or pallet jack weighing up to 350 lbs.
32. Able to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
33. Able to occasionally perform assigned work under severe time restraints. Able to work with minimal to non-standard supervision.
34. Able to understand and follow installation procedures  for equipment, cables, and hardware.
35. Team player with ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment. Able to pass a Government background check.
36. Working in live Electrical Circuit Breaker Panels utilizing National Electric Code (NEC) standards
37. Able to work non-standard hours depending on site requirements.
38. Willing to travel 100%.
39. Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
40. Computer technology for various software applications such as Microsoft Office, email.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience installing/fabricating FAA National Airspace System (NAS) Security, or communications systems, cabling and equipment.
• Spectrum Analyzer, Time-domain reflectometer, and other test equipment operation and use.
• UHF/VHF/HF Radio and  Microwave  alignment.
• Voice Switch, Air Traffic systems operation and use.
• CDL / Experience pulling trailer operation and use.
• Heavy equipment operation and use.

EDUCATION:

A Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or Science is required. We will accept Engineer-In-Training Examination (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certifications in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

Equivalent experience/Degree Exception – Two (2) years of relevant security experience may be substituted for each year of educational experience.  For example, a 4-year degree requirement may be substituted with 8 years of relevant security job experience.  HVAC and mechanical experience is not considered relevant security substitution.  Substitution of experience must be current and relevant to be considered a proper substitution such as experience related to installing/fabricating Military/Federal Security and Commercial Radio electronic equipment or fiber optic cable.
