Crowne Plaza Knoxville Downtown University in Knoxville, TN is looking for one gift shop attendant to join our team. We are located at 401 W. Summit Hill Drive. Benefits: • Free Employee Meal • Employee Discounts at all IHG Hotels • Free on Property Parking • Discounted Bus Passes Responsibilities: • Directs callers to the appropriate person by operating the hotel switchboard • Communicates clearly and concisely • Demonstrates proficiency in using the switchboard equipment • Transfers incoming calls promptly to the appropriate extension • Assists customers make long-distance calls and access the internet by instructing them on appropriate procedures and/or placing calls • Sets up customer wake-up calls and logs wake-up call requests as appropriate • Forwards calls to appropriate voicemail, takes accurate and complete messages when appropriate • Assists guests in the gift shop with purchases and maintains gift shop inventory and cleanliness • Greets guests in the gift shop in a warm and friendly manner • Offers assistance to guests in the gift shop • Utilizes gift shop computer to complete accurate transactions for gift shop purchases • Maximizes revenue and cash flow by adhering to credit and inventory control processes • Completes required shift documentation and closing paperwork at the end of each shift • Obtains appropriate approvals and signatures for gift shop purchases • Assists guests in locating requested items in the gift shop • Restock coolers and snack items when supply is low • Displays gift shop inventory in a clean and orderly fashion • Completes daily cleaning list to maintain cleanliness and tidy appearance of the gift shop • Responds to inquiries about hotel services • Keeps current on hotel accommodations, services, and area attractions • Responds to caller inquiries for information • Contact appropriate departments to fulfill guest requests Qualifications: • Enjoy being in a dynamic job where no task is above or below you • Enjoy meeting and interacting with people Compensation: $15 hourly
