We currently have a great opportunity within our Accounting Department for a Payroll Coordinator to be based out of our corporate offices in Chatsworth, CA. The Payroll Coordinator will demonstrate a commitment to excellence, strong work ethics and high ethical standards. You must also have solid knowledge for performing all payroll processing related activities in a timely and accurate manner; providing required and requested reports; providing advice, assistance, and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation; and, responding to specific payroll-related inquiries, with the proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
Job Summary
Prepare semi-monthly disbursement of payroll for multi-location, multi-state company with 1000 employees
Experience with ADP and ADP Time and Attendance
Process child support orders, garnishments and liens through ADP
Runs payroll preview reports, provides a thorough review of the reports and resolves payroll discrepancies
Performs all routine and additional necessary payroll audits prior to processing
Process manual checks, coordinate with accounting for timely deposits
Maintenance, auditing and daily entry of new hires, rehires, terminations, compensation changes, benefits changes, and personnel changes according to company policies and procedures
Investigate and resolve pay discrepancy questions
Maintain knowledge of wage and hour compliance issues to include multi-state wage compliance, overtime payment, payroll taxes, garnishments laws, etc.
Maintain and verify data accuracy and ensure errors are identified and resolved
Respond to employment and wage verifications
Serves as first point of contact for employee payroll questions
Miscellaneous pay or deduction entries
Requirements:
Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration preferred but not required, or equivalent with 3-5 years of in-depth payroll processing knowledge including on-line full-cycle payroll processing and payroll submission experience, ADP experience preferred
Resilient and flexible to change with the ability to multi-task and operate under pressure in a fast pace environment, ability to meet deadlines
Must possess the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality
Stay abreast and have good working knowledge of payroll and federal/state payroll tax-related laws and regulations, multi-state payroll experience preferred
Strong computer skills including intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook skills
Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries relating to payroll
Excellent organizational, time management, multi-tasking, follow-up & prioritization skills
Ability to research, analyze transactions, detect and avoid and/or resolve errors and issues
Strong math skills and professional verbal/written communication skills
Impressive accuracy and attention to detail
Good interpersonal and team collaboration skills with the ability to interact and provide guidance to employees and management on all HR related systems
Consistently maintain a professional demeanor with the ability to change focus based on business demands
