    Fun and trendy growing restaurant group are hiring a Catering and Events Manager to drive & group the catering department.

     

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work with the Owner and Directors to develop the sales strategy and oversee the execution of HomeState’s catering and special events department.
    • Receive and organize all assigned large order and catering inquiries in TripleSeat.
    • Plan and ensure proper execution of full-service events.
    • Provide training and oversight of the events team to maximize productivity and efficiency.
    • Manage teams and clients prior to and during the event to ensure a successful event.
    • Develop budgets and oversee financial reporting to internal departments and external agencies.
    • Assist with creation of content for event correspondence, collateral materials, social media and web in coordination with the marketing team.
    • Oversee the post-event coordination including but not limited to guest communication, financial close out, debrief meetings, inventories, and reporting.
    • Inform and update staff members and other involved parties throughout the event cycle.
    • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.
    • Establish a personal line of communication with each potential client via telephone or email within 24 business hours to acquire a full description of the event.
    • File all inquiry and scheduled event notes in the corresponding online and paper files.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve guest, client or co-worker issues promptly and with great care and effectiveness.
    • Negotiate invoices with clients for full service events, including menu/beverage pricing, staging for event, payment collection information, vendor information, transportation, and any special meals.
    • Collect signed contract, ensure receipt of pre and final payments from client.
    • Host and attend weekly meetings with the General Manager/Leadership Team to review the prior week’s events and to receive and review weekly breakdowns containing expectations of the upcoming events at least one week in advance or two weeks for larger off-site events.
    • Communicate and coordinate between office team, front of house staff, kitchen staff, and outside vendors.
    • Assist with scheduling to ensure all culinary and operation resources are placed to successfully fulfil events.
    • Create the banquet event order (BEO) and post for the kitchen team at least (3) business days before the event for operations and kitchen staff.?
    • Keep operational teams updated as changes occur to posted event orders.
    • Compile end of week report to submit to General Manager/Executive Team.

    • Knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
    • Maintain a strong working knowledge of restaurant POS systems, event management systems, and google drive.
    • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
    • Excellent oral & written communication in English
    • Excellent grammar, reading, and math skills
    • Self-motivated

     

    Requirements

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 3-5 years in restaurant industry with event sales management role preferred.
    • Manager Food Safety Certification required.
    • Personable and enjoys working with guests and leading a diverse team.
    • Passion for food, hospitality, and providing an exemplary guest experience.
    • Extended hours and/or a sixth day may occasionally be required. Weekends and evenings may be required.
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time (6 or more hours per shift)
    • Ability to lift 25+ pounds
