POSITION SUMMARY:
GXT, Overnight Pulse Oximetry, H pylori and Bone Density.
Minimum of CMA certification
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Individual characteristics desired in the Special Procedures position include, but not limited to, previous experience or training in basic anatomy or nursing skills; the ability to relate to and provide safety, reassurance, and instruction to patients and families.
· Ability to handle paperwork and submitting charges accurately.
· Knowledge in safe operation use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
· Procedure for purchasing, trouble shooting, ordering, getting repaired and maintaining liaison with sales and service representatives.
· Ability to closely follow physician’s orders regarding scheduling, medication, instructions, and education in preventive health to patients.
· Organize time for set up. Patient and equipment preparation, cleanup, and any physician’s instructions so that each physician may complete his procedure in ample time.
· Prepare room and set up equipment, medications and supplies for procedure to be performed.
· Prepare to explain procedure, risk involved, and alternative methods of treatment to patient and family.
· Get consent form signed by patient or responsible party for all procedures, this includes a non-covered policy consent form as well.
· Be able to assist (if procedure requires assistance) physician with procedure while maintaining comfort and safety of the patient.
· Safely assist patient with getting up and down off table. Clothing or any other problems involved with completing the procedure.
· Properly clean, sterilize, and store equipment if indicated; dispose of contaminated articles properly.
· Conduct self in accordance with Cullman Internal Medicine employee handbook.
· Maintains strictest confidentiality, adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
· Adheres to all Compliance guidelines/regulations, OSHA requirements.
· Participates in educational activities and attends staff meetings.
· Occasional overtime may be required and/or hours may be shortened as business needs dictate.
· Maintain BLS certification.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
· Minimum of CMA certification.
· Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions/ and communicate effectively with others.
· Knowledge of computer programs.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public.
· Must be well organized and detail-oriented.
· Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Requires sitting, standing and walking associated with a normal office environment.
· Manual dexterity needed for using a computer keyboard.

Hours are Monday – Friday 7am – 4pm. No weekends are required.
