    Job Description

    Curated Nest Interiors is a boutique residential interior design firm based in Westchester, NY. We are a small but fast-growing team with clients spanning Westchester, NY / Fairfield County, CT. We offer full-service design, from renovations to styling, and are unique in that we have a niche specializing in function-driven design for busy families.

    We are looking for a full-time Interior Designer based in Westchester, NY or Fairfield County, CT with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in residential interior design, along with project management, construction and renovation experience. We are currently in a heavy growth phase and need an experienced designer/project manager who is ready to hit the ground running on several large projects. Our ideal candidate has several years of hands-on construction experience and feels comfortable taking the lead to run this phase of the project, while assisting on the overall design from concept to completion. This role will require our candidate to be proactive, extremely organized and detail oriented, and work well in a team setting. Candidate should be comfortable working amongst client, trades, and junior designers independently, and comfortable working within a fast paced (but fun!) culture.

    The experienced interior designer/project manager will work directly with the Interior Design Principles and firm co-founders, Erin and Lina as well as team members from the design, operations, and procurement departments. This is an in person/ hands-on position that will require the successful candidate to be physically present on site at job locations. A car, or consistent access to a reliable car is required.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Accountability and ownership of multiple interior design/construction projects including but not limited to:

    • Site surveys, supervision, and installations across the Westchester / NYC / Southern CT area with a focus on design implementation and quality control.
    • Oversee construction management process via site visits and regular check ins with principals.
    • Develop project documentation including floorplans, elevations, FF&E and comprehensive finish schedules, and all corresponding construction documentation.
    • Develop graphic and visual presentations in partnership with principal designers, and associate design team.
    • Prepare and maintain project budgets and timelines of varying scope.
    • Sourcing of furniture, fabrics, lighting and finishes; including architectural finish materials
    • Create client proposals and detailed vendor purchase orders.
    • Confidently collaborate and communicate with outside architects, contractors & subcontractors, client representatives, vendors and other 3rd parties.
    • Manage junior designers.

     

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Must Have Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Degree or Certificate in Interior Design.
    • Minimum 5+ years in work experience in residential interior design, construction knowledge and experience a must.
    • Must be based in Westchester or Southern Connecticut, and willingness to travel to job sites across both locations as needed.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and comfortable learning new programs.
    • Organizational skills, strong time management and project management skills. Efficiency is a must to meet critical deadlines.
    • Experience and comfort working in a dynamic, team oriented, and fast-paced environment with ever-changing deadlines.
    • Must be ready to oversee and manage four or more projects of varying scopes simultaneously.
    • Experience in client service.
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable, consistent access to a car or own your own car.
    • Authorization to work in the US.

    Additional skills desired:

    • Familiarity with Photoshop, Ivy / Design Manager (or similar software), Asana, Houzz
    • Willingness to work with creatives who are learning as we grow

     

    COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience, please be prepared to share salary expectations. Eligible for bonus compensation depending on firm’s performance.
