    Job Description

     Curinos is currently seeking a TAX MANAGER to be responsible for the below:

    • Preparation and review of tax returns:
      • sales and use tax
      • VAT
      • HST/GST
    • Preparation and review of sales tax and VAT/HST/GST exemption certificates
    • Managing the Company’s automated sales tax solution, Avalara, and ensuring correct taxes are being charged
    • Monitoring thresholds for registration requirements
    • Applying for new tax registrations
    • Providing guidance and advice around indirect tax, i.e the tax implications of new products and alignment of tax treatment
    • Management of withholding tax forms, e.g. certificates of residence, form W-9, form W-8BEN-E, including returns if required
    • Providing write-off approval for withholding amounts
    • Providing guidance and advice around withholding tax inquiries
    • Assist in the preparation of federal and state corporate tax returns, partnership returns, and international tax returns
    • Assist in the quarterly estimates and annual tax provisions for the U.S., Canada, UK and Australia
    • Preparation of gross receipt tax filings (i.e Ohio CAT)
    • Preparation of property tax returns and business licenses
    • Reporting of annual total tax contributions
    • Management of general ledger journals and balance sheet reconciliations as it relates to sales tax, withholding tax and corporate tax
    • Respond to notices/inquiries from various taxing authorities
    • Assist with tax audits
    • Research international tax issues
    • Assist in other ad hoc requests as needed
    • Support controller on tax compliance issues and help minimize risk
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, CPA strongly preferred
    • 4+ years of experience in public accounting, specializing in international tax – a plus!
    • Experience in a multinational group with several subsidiaries
    • Ability to understand the business environment and apply the relevant tax principles, using practical methods to support the business owners’ needs and be able to clearly articulate those methods to relevant stakeholders
    • Creative thinking and out of the box solutions for complicated processes
    • Proficient in MS Office
    • Experienced with Avalara and NetSuite
    • Excellent analytical and technical tax skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Collaborate with international leadership and process owners and manage relationships with external advisors
    • Strong multitasking aptitude and the ability to take on responsibility
    • Commitment to diversity and empathy for those around you

    Salary range for this role is 108K to 125K.
