Job Description
Current Renewables Engineering seeks to hire passionate Project engineer Interns for its Riverside, CA office. The Project Engineer Interns will be supervised by a Sr. Civil Engineer and are responsible for reviewing and performing civil/structural engineering calculations and analysis for solar Photovoltaic systems. Additionally, the Project Engineer Intern will design repairs/structural upgrades as needed. The position may include additional engineering tasks in the future.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and analyze structural integrity for Photovoltaic system designs - including but not limited to residential rooftop designs and ground mounted designs
Assist with researching engineering requirements for different jurisdictions and implementing processes to streamline engineering services
Special projects as needed such as working on tools/templates, researching new engineering ventures, creating processes, etc.
REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION):
Working towards a B.S. in Civil Engineering
E.I.T. Certification preferred, but not required.
Have taken courses in wood, concrete, and steel design preferred
Knowledge of engineering codes including ASCE, IBC, NDS, AISC,and State Level Building Codes preferred
Software experience with RISA, Enercalc, and AutoCAD preferred.
Strong software experience in Excel prefered.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong computer skills.
