Job Description

Current Renewables Engineering seeks to hire passionate Project engineer Interns for its Riverside, CA office. The Project Engineer Interns will be supervised by a Sr. Civil Engineer and are responsible for reviewing and performing civil/structural engineering calculations and analysis for solar Photovoltaic systems. Additionally, the Project Engineer Intern will design repairs/structural upgrades as needed. The position may include additional engineering tasks in the future.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and analyze structural integrity for Photovoltaic system designs - including but not limited to residential rooftop designs and ground mounted designs

• Assist with researching engineering requirements for different jurisdictions and implementing processes to streamline engineering services

• Special projects as needed such as working on tools/templates, researching new engineering ventures, creating processes, etc.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION):

• Working towards a B.S. in Civil Engineering

• E.I.T. Certification preferred, but not required.

• Have taken courses in wood, concrete, and steel design preferred

• Knowledge of engineering codes including ASCE, IBC, NDS, AISC,and State Level Building Codes preferred

• Software experience with RISA, Enercalc, and AutoCAD preferred.

• Strong software experience in Excel prefered.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Strong computer skills.
