Curriculum Specialist

Position Overview: The Curriculum Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience of our students and ensuring the delivery of high-quality curriculum and instruction. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for curriculum development, teaching, and staff training. The Curriculum Specialist will work closely with our educators and leadership team to support the implementation of curriculum strategies and ensure that our programs align with best practices and educational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lesson Plans: Edit, print, and deliver lesson plans to teachers, ensuring they meet educational standards and objectives.
Staff Training: Provide training on curriculum, lesson planning, positive discipline, art room management, and playground activities.
Pacing Guides: Develop and maintain pacing guides to ensure a consistent and effective curriculum delivery.
New Student Checks: Complete assessments and checks for new students to ensure smooth transitions.
New Parent Checks: Communicate with and guide new parents regarding curriculum and school expectations.
Create Curriculum Materials: Design and develop curriculum materials that support the learning objectives of each grade or program.
Model Best Practice: Demonstrate and model best practices in teaching, lesson planning, and classroom management.
Art Inventory & Purchases: Oversee art inventory and purchases to maintain a well-stocked and inspiring art room.
Reviews/Coaching: Assist in reviewing and coaching teachers on curriculum-related matters to improve teaching practices.
Monitor Procare App: Ensure daily notes and pictures are uploaded to the Procare app for parent communication.
Field Trips: Approve curriculum aspects of field trips and ensure educational alignment.
Newsletter Article: Write a curriculum-focused article for the school newsletter, keeping parents informed about curriculum initiatives.
SN Support Services Interface: Act as a liaison for support services for students with special needs (SN), ensuring the curriculum meets their needs.
School Tours: Support school tours by showcasing the curriculum and educational approach.
School Break Plans: Collaborate with teachers to create engaging school break plans for students.
Parent & Staff Communication: Communicate curriculum-related updates with parents and staff in a clear and positive manner.
Accreditation Support: Assist with maintaining accreditation standards related to curriculum and teaching practices.
Team Teaching Decisions: Work with administration and teaching staff to make decisions on team teaching and collaborative learning strategies.
COR Edit Moments: Assist with editing and reviewing COR moments to meet monthly goals and ensure developmental progress is documented.
Team Player: Collaborate effectively with the school’s leadership and teaching teams.
Positive Outlook: Maintain a positive, supportive attitude toward all staff, students, and families.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Proven experience in curriculum development and teaching.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Passion for fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Experience with accreditation processes and documentation is a plus.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
