    The Curriculum and Extracurricular Activities Coordinator is responsible for two main school needs: the managing of curricular materials for classrooms and the managing of extra-curricular activities. They carry on the mission and the vision of James Irwin Charter Schools by supporting impeccable organization and distribution of materials and a positive school culture.

    Reports To

    The Principal of James Irwin Elementary School-Astrozon Campus. Works closely with the Administrative Assistant at JIES-A.

    Job Overview

    The Curriculum and Extracurricular Activities Coordinator is responsible for managing curriculum and additional materials that are used in the classroom. This includes, but is not limited to checking out materials to staff, checking materials back in, preparing newly purchased curriculum to be used, repairing damaged curriculum, reporting the need for purchasing replacement books and billing parents for damaged curriculum when appropriate. They are also responsible for coordinating and promoting extra-curricular activities at JIES-A. This includes, but is not limited to coordinating parent volunteers, the school yearbook, sports programs/clinics, tutoring pick-up, books clubs, creative writing clubs, martial arts, Love and Logic parent meetings, Staff Kids Care, etc. The coordinator will work closely with the principal and the administrative assistant to plan and schedule events effectively.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of a high school diploma is required.
    • Experience at JICS is preferred.
    • Excellent organization skills for both managing curriculum and scheduling activities.
    • Excellent communication skills between departments and schools.
    • Positive, flexible attitude and the ability to work with different personality types.
    • Ability to solve problems on short notice and follow safety protocol.
    • A desire to promote positive enrichment experiences for students and families at JIES, contributing to positive school culture.

    Starting Hourly Rate: $18/hour (could be higher based on experience/qualifications)
