    Reports to: Custodian Supervisor

    Salary (Grade): $20.62 (G14-E)

    Status: Regular, FT(Non-Exempt)

    Location: Winnebago Tribal Facilities Department in Winnebago, Nebraska

    Job Purpose & Position Overview

    This is manual work in the custodial and housekeeping care of WTN’s Facilities program. Work involves the performance of varied cleaning, minor maintenance and repair tasks, following established routines in an assigned tribal facility. Specific instructions are received on unusual jobs. Frequently, the moving or lifting of equipment and materials is required. Work is inspected while in progress or upon completion for adherence to instructions and work standards.

    Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:

    Demonstrate the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values

    Clean and disinfect restroom and replenish supplies; clean and disinfect water fountains

    Unclog sinks and toilets, and report the need for repairs

    May sweep, vacuum, wax, mop and buff floors, dust and clean offices, rooms, cafeteria, gym and related areas; collect and remove trash, wash walls and windows

    Make minor repairs as needed and reports major damage/needed repairs

    Keep all janitorial equipment, machinery in good and operable condition; keeping them clean

    May move furniture and equipment; set up rooms and gym; keeps walks and entryways clear of snow and salted as needed

    Stock supplies for restrooms as needed; strip and wax floors when assigned

    Perform related work as required

    Attend required company and departmental meetings

    These duties are only illustrations of the types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment

    Required Qualifications/Skills:

    Some knowledge of the materials, methods, equipment and procedures used in cleaning.

    Must have a valid driver’s license; must be able to meet driver’s eligibility guidelines for insurance.

    Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to fixtures and equipment

    Ability to operate vacuum cleaners, buffers and other custodial equipment

    Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of surfaces

    Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions

    Ability to occasionally perform heavy manual work

    Ability to pass background check and drug screen

    Education Preference:

    High school diploma or GED is preferred

    Training Requirements:

    Must attend all department meetings and training courses as directed by Facilities Manager and as directed

    Physical Requirements:

    Normal to heavy work, which includes the ability to lift over 50 lbs.

    Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands and feet to operate equipment and company vehicles

    While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear

    Mental Requirements:

    Reading, writing, calculating

    Above average social interaction skills

    Reasoning/Analysis

    Works with minimal supervision

    Language Requirements:

    Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently

    Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills
