    Job Description

    Part-time custodial position at a state agency located in South Charleston, WV. Responsible for keeping premises of office building in clean and orderly condition by performing the following job duties:

    • Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
    • Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
    • Sweeps, and scrubs floor.
    • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
    • Dusts furniture and equipment.
    • Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
    • Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
    • Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
    • Replenishes bathroom supplies.
    • Sweep and pickup trash on the parking lot and entrances or as specified by contract.
    • Cleans all sinks, commodes, and mirrors.
    • Maintain janitorial equipment and supplies to ensure economical use thereof.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED preferred, and one to three months experience and/or training. Prior custodial experience strongly preferred.
    • Must have ability to pass criminal background check.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk.
    • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Judgment must be used if items weigh over 25 pounds.
    • Must have reliable transportation.

    • Day shift, part-time position.
    • Position will follow West Virginia state agency holiday schedule.
