JOB TITLE: Customer Service Associate
DEPARTMENT: SVA Campus Store
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager, SVA Campus Store
SALARY: $40,000- $50,000 per year
JOB SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 9 am- 5 pm with 2 weekends a year onsite
POSITION OVERVIEW : The Customer Service Associate interacts with customers to provide information in response to inquiries about merchandise, Apple products, and services sold by the store. The employee will be in contact with the public constantly, both over the phone and via chat, as well as in person at the store. The Associate will also prepare the sales floor merchandise and assist customers with orders and deliveries as required. This position has the opportunity to gain training in the Apple Excellence Program, a sales training program with opportunities to interact within the larger Apple Authorized Campus Store community.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond to customer inquiries with regard to product offerings and services
- Execute credit card and POS transactions – sales/returns
- Weekly maintenance and updating of the e-commerce website regarding promotions, new products, photographs, and descriptions, with consideration for Apple compliance, etc.
- Daily fulfillment of all e-commerce orders posted to the store account.
- Maintain digital image archive of all product lines, edited for web and print.
- Monitor inventory, tag merchandise, and maintain stock levels as established by the Manager
- Set up and display merchandise and equipment within the store.
- Perform general housekeeping of the store's sales floor.
- Participate in store marketing activities and other special promotions/activities
- Participate in ongoing Apple product education certifications
- Participate in quarterly inventory counts
- Assist in troubleshooting and responding to customer inquiries, return policy questions, and complaints related to the sale of products.
- Process and follow through with all SVA Loan Requests
- Ability to work retail hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays, as the need arises.
- Assist the Manager in all work-related activities, as needed
RESPONSIBILITIES – SUPERVISOR:
- May assist in training temps and student workers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 2 years of related experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree preferred
- Customer service & de-escalation experience preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in the retail environment – electronics/computer/photography or related technology.
- 2-3 years of experience as Cashier/Point of Sale (POS) system experience
- Experience with Shopify is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR WORKING CONDITIONS:
- This customer service associate position is completely onsite with no opportunity to work remotely.
- Willingness to work outside designated office hours as needed for events
- Shift may change according to departmental needs. Work hours may include after-hours, holidays, and weekend work
- May be required to work additional hours outside of the regular work schedule.
- Tasks may involve bending, lifting, walking, carrying or using a force equal to lifting up to thirty-five (35) pounds.
