D-BAT Virginia Beach is the premier baseball and softball training facility in the 757. Our 18,000 sqft indoor facility is built for athletes of all ages and skill levels: from beginners picking up a bat for the first time to high-level collegiate and pro players. With a focus on instruction, reps, and community, we provide professional-level training in a welcoming, family-friendly environment.
Our facility features multiple hitting cages, pitching machines, a fully stocked pro shop, and access to top-tier instructors — all who have played or coached at the collegiate and professional level. Position Overview:
We’re looking for a Customer Service Manager who is dependable, outgoing, and ready to lead the front desk during the busiest hours of our day. This role is perfect for someone who has recently finished playing baseball or softball and wants to stay involved in the sport in a leadership capacity.
You’ll be a vital part of daily operations — supporting our General Manager and Assistant GMs, mentoring part-time staff, interacting with customers, and helping families navigate lessons, camps, and proshop gear. This is not just a front desk job: it’s a leadership role in a high-energy, youth-focused training environment.
What You’ll Do:
Leadership & Front Desk Management
Take ownership of front desk operations during your shifts.
Lead by example: greet guests, answer phones, manage check-ins, assist customer walk-ins, and resolve issues calmly and professionally.
Train and supervise front desk staff, holding them to high standards of customer service and professionalism.
Customer Interaction & Pro Shop Expertise
Guide parents and players through our services — lessons, cage rentals, camps, automatic machine credits, & memberships.
Assist customers in choosing the right gear: help size players for bats, explain product differences, and provide recommendations.
Learn all pro shop inventory, including bats, gloves, apparel, and training tools.
Perform bat wrapping services with confidence and attention to detail.
Facility Operations & Communication
Ensure the pro shop and front desk area is clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times.
Communicate with instructors and management about lessons, cage usage, and customer needs.
Support special events, clinics, and seasonal promotions by helping with logistics and front-line communication.
Maintain a safe training environment by ensuring all guests have signed waivers, enforcing helmet use in designated areas, and actively monitoring cage activity for unauthorized or unsafe use.
Responsible for end-of-day closing procedures, including resetting cages, mopping floors, performing light cleaning of restrooms, and ensuring the facility is properly secured and maintained in a clean, orderly condition.
Who We’re Looking For:
A former player or someone with a sports management background.
Consistent and open availability is required, especially during peak hours: mainly evenings, weekends, holidays.
Confident, upbeat, and comfortable stepping into a leadership role.
Detail-oriented and proactive — someone who sees a need and takes care of it without waiting to be asked.
Requirements:
At least 1–2 years of customer service or team leadership experience preferred.
Must be 18+ with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable using a point-of-sale system and learning new scheduling software.
Able to lift and move gear 50lbs+, work on your feet, and handle a fast-paced environment.
CPR certification to be aquired within first 60 days of employment.
