As a Customer Service Representative (Supporter Services), you are the voice of CARE. You will be the primary point of contact for our donors, partners, and the general public. This role is not just about answering phones; it is about building relationships, expressing gratitude, and ensuring that every person who interacts with CARE feels valued and inspired to support our mission.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Engagement: Handle inbound inquiries via phone, email, and live chat regarding donations, tax receipts, and program information.
Database Management: Accurately update donor records in our CRM (e.g., Salesforce or Blackbaud Raiser's Edge) to ensure clean data and seamless communication.
Gift Processing: Assist with processing monthly recurring gifts, troubleshooting payment issues, and managing "CARE Packages" or symbolic gift inquiries.
Advocacy & Education: Stay up-to-date on CARE’s global initiatives (e.g., crisis response in Gaza, food security in South Sudan) to provide informed answers to supporter questions.
Problem Resolution: Resolve complaints or concerns with empathy and efficiency, turning potentially negative experiences into positive brand interactions.
Qualifications & Skills
Empathetic Communicator: You have a "people-first" attitude and can discuss sensitive global issues with tact and compassion.
Technical Proficiency: Comfortable navigating CRM software, Microsoft Office 365, and digital communication tools.
Detail Oriented: You understand that accurate data entry is the backbone of successful fundraising.
Adaptability: You can remain calm and professional during high-volume periods, such as year-end giving seasons or during major humanitarian emergencies.
Language Skills: Bilingualism (English/Spanish or English/French) is a significant plus.
