    About the Role:

    Join DESIGNPLAN LIGHTING INC as a Customer Service & Sales Support Coordinator in Frenchtown, NJ! This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to engage with customers and support our sales team in delivering exceptional lighting solutions.

    We are a specification-grade LED lighting manufacturer and importer seeking a tech-savvy, detail-oriented part-time team member to support customer service and sales operations. This role focuses on tracking order status, communicating with customers, and assisting with internal reporting.

    The ideal candidate is comfortable working in Excel and business software systems and is confident learning new tools such as our SAGE accounting platform.

    Key Responsibilities

    Customer Service & Order Management (Primary Focus)

    Track order status from entry through shipment and delivery

    Serve as a point of contact for customer inquiries regarding order status

    Communicate updates, delays, and resolutions to customers

    Coordinate with internal teams (production, purchasing, logistics) for accurate order information

    Maintain accurate order records across systems

    Sales Support & Reporting (Support Role)

    Assist with maintaining and updating sales reports

    Support data entry and validation of sales data

    Generate routine reports as needed

    Systems & Tools

    Work within Excel and SAGE

    Learn and adapt to new software and internal tools

    Help ensure data accuracy across systems

    Qualifications

    1–3 years of experience in customer service, sales support, or order coordination

    Strong comfort with computers and business software

    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, basic formulas; pivot tables a plus)

    Ability to learn new systems quickly

    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    Clear, professional communication skills

    Experience with ERP/accounting systems (SAGE a plus)

    Experience in manufacturing, lighting, or construction-related industries is a plus

    Role Scope & Expectations

    Part-time position (approx. 20–25 hours/week)

    Primary focus on customer service and order tracking

    Reporting and system tasks are supportive and task-based
