Summary
The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, accurately processing customer transactions, and maintaining a safe and secure working environment. The Customer Service Specialist is the face of the company, and a friendly, professional attitude is essential in building customer relationships. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are key to helping customers with their financial needs.
Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities
- Greet customers upon arrival and provide prompt, courteous service.
- Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other transactions accurately and efficiently per Inwood procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions.
- Balance cash drawer and reconcile discrepancies.
- Answer customer inquiries and provide appropriate information.
- Refer customers to the appropriate staff for further assistance.
- Maintain a clean and professional workstation.
- Adhere to all security procedures and regulations to minimize risk.
- Identify customer needs and suggest appropriate products or services.
- Respond to customer complaints and resolve disputes in a timely and professional manner.
- Cross-sell bank products and services to customers.
- Monitor customer feedback and provide insights for product and process improvements.
- Train and mentor new branch staff, as needed.
- Ensures compliance with established Bank policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and related laws as they pertain to the Bank Secrecy Act in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Customer Information Program.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1-2 years of customer service experience and cash handling experience.
- Solid knowledge of banking products, services, regulations and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to accurately handle and count money.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with banking software and Microsoft Office applications.
