    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY: This full-time position will hold overall responsibility for managing all distribution center operations and will report directly to the General Manager. The candidate selected for this role will serve as a key decision-maker in the execution of broad organizational and operational objectives. Provides business and managerial leadership for successful operation of distribution building. Hire and manager personnel, plan and manage operations and interface with customer service department. Provides continual coaching to all managerial teams on ways to improve 100% quality standards and maintain on-time performances.  

      

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required. 

      

    q Provide leadership and direction to a team of operations supervisors as they oversee daily warehouse functions. 

      

    q Ensure that operational resources, including equipment and human talent, are properly allocated in relation to daily operational needs. 

      

    q Perform high-level labor-allocation analysis in order to ensure efficient and cost-effective labor distribution. Provide on-going monitoring for compliance to budgetary objectives. 

      

    q Effectively represent the organization to a diverse workforce and nurture a culture of safety, responsibility, and accountability among all subordinate staff. 

      

    q Ensure a work environment driven by mutual respect and a focus of shared goals. 

      

    q Serve as a mentor, leader, and team builder. 

      

    q Ensure team compliance to published Company policies, procedures, and standards. 

      

    q Help to create a culture of safety and service from the ground up and ensure compliance to the workplace safety standards, policies, and procedures at all times. 

      

    q Coordinate the efforts of shipping office and operations personnel to ensure that customer orders are effectively satisfied. 

      

    q Liaise between subordinate staff and senior management to ensure organizational goals and objectives are effectively communicated and met. 

      

    q Oversee all administrative processes within the distribution center to include generation of shift, labor, and operational reports. 

      

    q Ensure that all work in carried out in compliance with all company safety and operational standards. 

      

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has supervisory responsibilities for many supervisory and warehouse positions. 

      

    QUALIFICATIONS: In order to perform this job successfully the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  

    q A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of management experience in a distribution center environment. 

    q Extensive supply chain process expertise including inbound receiving, storage, retrieval (full pallets, case pick, layer pick), shipping, transportation, etc. 

    q Hold a Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in business management supply chain management, or logistics. 

    q Excellent organizational and management skills to include the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and assign responsibilities accordingly. 

    q A background in safety knowledge, including OSHA requirements and emergency training is preferred.  

    q Strong ability to manage profit & loss. 

    q Excellent inter-personal and leadership skills. 

    q Strong computer and technology skills to include a proficiency in MS Office applications. 

    q Knowledge of RF-enabled warehouse technologies. 

    q Extensive knowledge of material handling challenges and opportunities. 

      

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to compose reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate information in verbal or written format and effectively respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, employees, customers and the general public. 

      

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages as well as draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to correctly read, interpret and process lengthy strings of individual digits in their correct order. 

      

    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
