Summary:
They are seeking an Customs Compliance Specialist to oversee Foreign-Trade Zone operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, maintaining accurate inventory records, and facilitating the compliant and efficient movement of goods into, within, and out of the FTZ.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, including 19 CFR Part 146 and Foreign-Trade Zones Board requirements
Prepare, review, and submit required customs documentation (CF 214, CF 3461, CF 7501, CF 7512) using U.S. Customs software
Manage in-bond transactions, monitor bond closures, and support CBP audits and on-site reviews
Monitor, reconcile, and maintain accurate FTZ inventory using SAP and FTZ-specific systems
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies between physical counts and system records, including required reporting to carriers and CBP
Maintain accurate electronic records and documentation for all FTZ activities
Prepare, validate, and submit required reports to CBP and the FTZ Board, including admissions, withdrawals, exports, and weekly estimates
Serve as the primary point of contact for FTZ-related inquiries, coordinating with customs brokers, freight forwarders, warehouse teams, and internal stakeholders
Evaluate current FTZ processes and recommend improvements to enhance compliance, efficiency, and operational effectiveness
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
5+ years of experience performing FTZ duties, including CF 216 admissions and production activity (Inverted Tariff Benefits)
Certified Zone Specialist (CZS), Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), or Accredited Zones Specialist (AZS) strongly preferred
Proven background in customs compliance; Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) is a plus
Demonstrated experience managing FTZ operations, compliance performance, and inventory control
Hands-on experience with CBP’s ACE system
Familiarity with FTZ warehouse operations and procedures
Strong knowledge of HTS classification and tariff application
