    Job Description

    The Program Manager applies an expert-level project management skill set to successfully lead a broad range of complex new product development projects for the Instant Brands business.

    IDEAL CANDIDATES HAVE A SOLID MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, OR INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING BACKGROUND with relevant global industry experience in the design of new products. They have a minimum of seven years of experience managing complex projects as a project manager or a program manager.

    They are highly organized and self-motivated individuals with the ability to apply critical thinking skills to proactively solve complex problems both within and beyond their assigned projects. They have solid interpersonal and communication skills with the proven ability to lead teams towards common project goals while guiding stakeholders through competing business priorities.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Responsible for the successful project management of all assigned projects
    • Defines the project plan and owns the execution of all project phases in accordance with the defined phase gate process.
    • Creates and manages timelines to ensure business goals are successfully achieved
    • Facilitates cross-functional team meetings to drive decisions, mitigate risks, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to program objectives; Clearly communicates decisions and required follow-up items
    • Provides direction to cross-functional teams to ensure all activities are completed as needed
    • Clearly identifies and communicates project constraints, risks, issues, and mitigation plans
    • Ensures that all project documentation is in place as required such that product and project requirements are clear to the teams
    • Prepares and presents updates for monthly project reviews and gate meetings
    • Manages resource prioritization with leadership to ensure project needs are met
    • Contributes to the development and application of project management theories to project execution
    • Contributes to the creation and maintenance of project portfolio funnels
    • Identifies and provides leadership for the resolution and optimization of project workflow issues
    • Provides leadership to project managers as well as other functional team members as needed
    • Contributes to the creation and ongoing support of the corporate product development process
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • ENGINEERING DEGREE IS REQUIRED; BSME, BSEE, OR BSIE PREFERRED
    • Minimum of 7 years of project management experience is required
    • Direct experience managing cross-functional teams through the design, development, and implementation of product development projects is strongly preferred
    • Candidates with a significant combination of equivalent education may be considered
    • Direct experience in the design and manufacturing of durable goods or consumer goods is preferred
    • Candidates with a significant combination of equivalent experience may be considered
    • Demonstrated leadership skills is required; experience managing direct reports is a strong benefit
    • Professional organization affiliation is a benefit. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a strong plus
