Communications Director

Job SummaryThe Communications Director will be responsible for Cyber Defense Labs brand by spearheading Cyber Defense Labs internal and external communications strategy. This position will serve as one of the spokespersons for the organization, oversee the Company’s content and messaging including the website, publications, social media accounts, crisis communications, programming for events, earned media strategy-PR and Media Relations, internal communications, organizational messaging.

Roles and Responsibilities

Create, manage and execute strategic communications plans to promote Cyber Defense Labs and the deep expertise and unique capabilities we provide to help companies identify and reduce business risk.

Help execute strategies involving earned and owned media to include social media, SEO, website, and content creation to increase brand awareness, promote thought leadership, and proactively elevate our qualities and ability to help companies in need of trusted cyber risk management.

Collaborate with peers across Marketing & Communications along with other business teams to identify opportunities, ensure consistent messaging and promote our unique value and qualities.

Organize the Cyber Defense Labs Story: Create a comprehensive messaging document that organizes strategic priorities, attributes, and initiatives into defining messages.

Collaborate and draft talking points, statements, and media responses along with messaging and copy for marketing materials to ensure consistent messaging and branding

Collaborate across the organization to fully understand the Company’s products, services, and communication needs.

Support and lead internal communications at Cyber Defense Labs and ensure Internal Communications is timely, consistent, and rooted in a scalable and sustainable strategic framework as Cyber Defense Labs employee population continues to grow.

Develop and leverage the company intranet site.

Manage PR and media relations across Cyber Defense Labs; Represent Cyber Defense Labs in regional media opportunities, manage regional media events, and craft documents (press releases, media alerts, etc.) for external distribution.

Serve as the editor-in-chief of content, strategy, and planning Cyber Defense Labs channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) regional channels (Facebook)

Serve as one of the spokespersons for the organization for media outlets

Manage, develop, and distribute Cyber Defense Labs

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage a team of direct reports in their respective functional areas.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree in applicable field preferred

Experience: 8+ years of full-time professional experience required; 3+ years of full-time people management required

Strong writing and editing skills

Experience in public relations, working with media, and strategic communications

Relationship-building and influencing skills, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders

Creative, ambitious and highly adept in designing and implementing cohesive communications strategies

Excellent communication skills, both orally and written

Results and quality-focused with an eye for detail, a bias for excellence in building and deploying communications plans and managing multiple communications platforms
