We are seeking an experienced Kubernetes Linux DevOps & Software Engineer to join the Secure Engineering and Education Development team to elevate SAP’s Cybersecurity learning initiatives to the next level. Our team is improving SAP cybersecurity by cultivating knowledge, raising security awareness, and fostering security culture across the company. THE ROLE:

As a Kubernetes Linux DevOps & Software Engineer, you will join with our current technical staff in a cross-functional agile & DevOps team. Primary responsibilities include:

· Build and operate Java and Node.js solutions for targeted learning, games and simulation, cyber ranges, and knowledge platforms

· Support our development and production environment using primarily Kubernetes hosted on vSphere, AWS, and Azure.

· Writing, testing, and documenting systems automation

· Influence technology and architecture decision making

· Help operate DevOps pipelines and microservice deployments in Kubernetes

· Work with agile stakeholders to refine user stories, implement, and demonstrate work to end-users

· Opportunity to work with customers, partners, and open-source communities

YOUR PROFILE:

Computer science related degree, or equivalent work experience. Candidate must have strong English communication skills (B2 or higher), and a desire to develop software collaboratively. The ideal candidate thrives on problem solving and possess an eagerness to work in multiple technical domains. Skillset requirements include:

· 3+ years Kubernetes administration, rbac, networking, and storage

· Strong knowledge of containerization and virtualization technologies

· Ability to write documented and tested “glue” using common Linux CLI tools, for example: bash, python, perl, awk, grep, sed, etc.

· Aptitude to learn new technologies quickly

· Experience following DevOps best practices

· Strong understanding of 12-factor application principles

· Preferred: Interest in learning web application software development during slower work periods

· Preferred: Applying “infrastructure-as-code” principles using one of: Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef

· Preferred: Familiarity with GitOps methodology

· Preferred: Open-source project commits to active projects within the past year

COMPENSATION RANGE TRANSPARENCY: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $81,700 - $174,800 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
