    THE POSITION

    Cyborg Mobile seeks a Software Engineering Instructor to support its next big project with a Fortune 100 company. This position will be responsible for guiding and mentoring junior software engineers/interns on how to develop mobile apps. If you are eager to shape the skills, minds, and trajectories of future developers, then this opportunity is for you! The successful candidate will have industry experience working with consumer facing products and possess a keen interest in teaching and mentoring.

    This is a full-time position. You must be able to work full-time onsite at our partner company from June 17th to August 9th, 2019. You will be exposed to new teams, cultures, and help pave the way for the next generation of problem solvers. The right person for this role will have a strong desire to help people learn and grow.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    You will be assigned a team of jr. software engineers and work with them to learn how to create a consumer facing app. You'll partner with senior engineers to ensure mentorship of jr. software engineers are on track and practicing their skills.

    SPECIFIC BREAKDOWN OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Guide jr. software engineers through product lifecycle building an iOS mobile app, working in sprints using Agile techniques
    • Collaborate with other functional team members and stakeholders, working closely with program manager(s), senior engineers, and team of jr. software engineers to meet objectives and goals
    • Assess learner needs and styles, define learning objectives, create the learning environment and content materials, implement the training, and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum
    • Provide app development training building upon each lesson (e.g., intro to GIT & Swift, App Building Basics, etc.)

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

    • 5+ years of experience as consumer facing developer or in similar role
    • 2+ years of teaching and/or mentoring experience is highly desired
    • Knowledge and experience developing curriculum and planning lessons is highly desired
    • 5+ years industry experience as a key member of a front-end engineering team participating in the complete product development lifecycle of successfully launched applications
    • Robust understanding of the patterns and practices that revolve around the iOS platform
    • Strong communication with users, other technical teams, and/or senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
    • Experience working in large technology enterprises a plus
    • Experience with cultural diversity and working in underrepresented communities a plus
