Passionate about using your skills to save lives and transform healthcare? Cyft is seeking a Backend Engineer to build data products that will make the Learning Healthcare System a reality. You will work with a great team and a state-of-the-art technology stack that is fully hosted on AWS. Most importantly, you will be solving healthcare problems for paying customers starting on day one.

Your Role You are more interested in building products and tools that impact patient care rather than focusing on a particular technology. You like being involved end-to-end, from design to deploy, and not just developing from specs. You get satisfaction over building systems that are shown to be rock solid through tests at all levels and can safely deploy continuously.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build serverless backends that take advantage of an existing AWS infrastructure to support both customer-facing and internal management web-apps.
• Collaborate with engineers on Vue frontend development.
• Improve and maintain continuous delivery, infrastructure automation, schema migrations, and security for web-apps and our data analytics platform.
• Test changes, using a combination of unit, integration, and system tests as appropriate.
• Build infrastructure and data pipeline components for the data analytics platform.
• Integrate and help select AWS services, systems, and tools.

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong knowledge of ES6+ and unit testing (Jest).
• Production experience with Node.js and building and documenting REST APIs.
• Production experience with relational databases and/or document stores.
• Professional experience working with developer tools on a team (Git, GitHub PRs)
• 3+ years of professional engineering experience.

Experience in any of these areas is useful:

• AWS serverless ecosystem (API Gateway, Cognito, Lambda).
• Serverless framework, AWS Cloudformation, and Bash scripting.
• Continuous integration and deployment with CircleCI, Travis CI, or Jenkins.
