Cygnal is looking to hire an excellent writer and detail-oriented Polling Assistant who has a strong interest in pursuing a career in politics or political polling. The Polling Assistant primarily responsibility will be to provide high-level administrative support to the VP of Polling.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work directly with the VP of Polling to support all aspects of his daily work routine.
Serve as a liaison between the VP of Polling and other departments as well as clients. This includes answering a variety of questions with tact and diplomacy, taking messages, and directing calls appropriately for resolution.
Coordinate work with other departments as needed; play a key role in the coordination of team efforts both within and outside the department.
Provide monitoring of projects for the VP of Polling.
Determine priority of matters of attention for the VP of Polling; redirect matters to other departments to handle, or handle matters personally, as appropriate.
Keep the VP of Polling advised of time-sensitive and priority issues, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
Routinely perform a wide variety of administrative duties.
Attend meetings and take notes of discussion.
Complete a variety of special projects including creating PowerPoint presentations, special reports, and agenda material.
Schedule meetings, appointments, and travel if needed (may include domestic and international) arrangements. Exercise discretion in committing time and evaluating needs.
Other additional and/or alternative duties as assigned from time to time, including supporting other departments or Executives as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:
Rising senior or recent graduate in political science, public relations, or related fields (must reside in the York, PA area).
Competent in Microsoft products and efficient in email, Teams, Word and PowerPoint.
Highly accurate work with attention to detail.
Well-developed writing skills with a strong grasp of grammar.
Knowledge-hungry with a teachable mindset and willingness to accept and apply feedback.
Flexibility to work weekends and/or extended hours as needed
COMPENSATION:
$45,000/year
