    Job Summary

    The Human Resources (HR) Specialist will support a positive employee experience through effective onboarding, orientation and administration of benefits and open enrollment. The HR specialists will act as employees’ primary point of contact for general employment questions. The HR Specialist will also ensure employee and company compliance with all HR-related regulations, laws and best practice.

    Summary of essential job function

    • Facilitate employee onboarding and orientation
    • Complete employee offboarding as needed
    • Performs benefits administration and communicates benefits to employees
    • Monitors required annual trainings
    • Initiate and maintain employee credentialing
    • Initiate and maintain employee licensing
    • Assist with processing payroll
    • Field employment-related questions from applicants and employees, referring sensitive matters to the appropriate supervisors
    • May act as a witness for supervisors administering disciplinary action or termination
    • Maintain employee files
    • Process related questionnaires and documents for unemployment compensation matters and represent the company for unemployment claims
    • Process related questionnaires for verification of earnings
    • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments and applicable laws regarding Human Resources
    • Complies with federal and state disability laws and makes reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees with disabilities
    • Monitor changes in employment law and train managers on employment law to ensure compliance
    • Ensure the highest level of confidentiality related to company and employee information
    • Assist with the development and application of HR concepts, practices, policy and procedures to address organizational needs
    • Works with operations and facilities management to guarantee a safe and secure working environment and maintain compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) standards
    • Answer general HR-related questions regarding policy, procedures, benefits and employee relations, maintain accurate documentation
    • Administers and facilitates workers’ compensation program; works with management to identify light duty accommodations; communicates progress and claims issues with insurance company claims representative; maintains all appropriate documentation
    • Process FMLA requests and maintain documentation for compliance
    • Communicate appropriately with all levels of employees from new hires to senior leadership
    • Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings, including trainings and seminars
    • Follow Employee Handbook, Management Policies and Procedures Manual, and Medical Policies & Procedures Manual
    • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
    • Minimum of 2 years of human resources experience
    • SHRM certification preferred
    • Must have a working knowledge of HR-related laws, regulations and best practice
    • Must have knowledge of relevant federal, state and local regulations relating to Human Resources
    • Experience processing payroll preferred
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations
    • Clear Criminal Record Check, Arkansas Child & Adult Maltreatment Regulatory Checks, FBI Regulatory Check, including National Sex Offender Registry
    • Pass a drug screen (upon hire, annually, and/or randomly)
    • Travel may be required
    • Valid Arkansas Driver's License
    • Clear driving record
