D1 Training is in Burlington, MA! JOIN OUR TEAM. We are seeking high-energy interns focused on Strength & Conditioning Coaching for next semester.
D1 Training is an athletic-based training facility that delivers results. We work on speed, strength, conditioning, agility, nutrition, recovery, and everything else an athlete needs to perform. Our athletes are looking to improve overall fitness, train to reach the starting team, collegiate, or pro levels - we want to help our members achieve their goals! At D1, we train athletes from age 7 through adults. D1 is a mindset and a community, more than turf and weights.
Key Vision for Strength & Conditioning Internship Position: At D1, our promise to our athletes is to say: “You pick the goal, we help you get there” and D1 Coaches are the catalysts for our fulfillment of that promise! D1 Coaches implement and instill the D1 training philosophy into every workout. They exhibit the ability to adapt and customize programs in the workouts in order to tailor them to our athletes. They take a personal stake in the lives of our athletes, maintaining constant personal connections and monitoring their individual progress toward their goals. As a Strength and Conditioning Intern, you will assist our coaches in every aspect of their role and learn from our best-in-class team. The goal is to have fun and gain deep on-the-job knowledge!
Major Areas Of Focus:
Training: Dedicated to training/improving the lives of D1’s athletes by –
Exhibiting passion, expertise, high energy, a positive and motivating attitude, and strong character
Ensure D1 workouts & programs are implemented in a safe & consistent manner, use D1’s 5-Star Training System
Assist in demonstrating movements and monitoring athletes for correct form
Aid in athlete assessments with the coaches
Leading: Must be a leader on-and-off the turf and inside-and-outside the facility by -
Focusing on D1’s mission to inspire and motivate athletes to reach their goals
Exhibiting D1 character & living by and teaching D1’s core values
Assist in training, developing, mentoring, and managing D1 athletes
Marketing: Build D1’s brand and business by –
Being a D1 Ambassador – assisting in on and off-campus training events as well as networking in the community to help drive prospects and revenue, and to promote D1 to increase goodwill and market awareness
Contributing to marketing efforts through community events, seasonal programs, clinics
Knowing social media platforms - will be responsible for contributing content daily/weekly
Client Management: The client comes first
Contribute to a great member experience, over-the-top customer service, be a source of information
Check-in members and guests
Operations: Be a Team Player by -
Pitching in with cleaning and safety as outlined by the General Manager
Helping to maintain the training space and equipment; utilizing daily and weekly check-lists
Accountability Measures:
Adherence to, and promotion of, the D1 Core Values
Accurate and timely completion of daily job duties
Successful completion of D1 Level 1 Coaching
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Be genuinely nice
Live a fitness and healthy lifestyle
Have participated in the fitness and athlete development industry
Participated on competitive sports teams *Collegiate athletics is a plus
College degree in Sports Management, Exercise Science is a plus
Be able to physically lift and/or move weight lifting/exercise equipment such as dumbbells, kettlebells, slam balls
Highly energetic with a “can do” attitude, outgoing, friendly, self-starter, takes initiative, attention to detail
Has D1 Core Values, strong moral character & servant attitude, drive constantly for knowledge
Preferred Qualifications & Experience: Live near the facility, familiar with community dynamic, able to refer clients
Existing relationships with local schools, coaches, and sports teams
