Remote Dynamics 365 F&O Finance & SCM Solution Architect

Role Summary

As a Dynamics 365 F&O Finance & SCM Solution Architect at a leading Microsoft Partner, you will be the trusted advisor and solution owner for enterprise-level D365 Finance and Supply Chain implementations. You will combine deep functional expertise in finance and supply chain management with robust architectural design skills to translate complex client business requirements into a scalable, secure, and cohesive Dynamics 365 solution. This remote role is critical for driving the success of our most strategic client engagements, from pre-sales through successful go-live and adoption.

Key Responsibilities

1\. Solution Vision & Design (The Architect)

• Lead Solution Design: Own the end-to-end functional and architectural design for D365 F&O solutions, with a deep focus on Finance (GL, AP, AR, Budgeting, Fixed Assets, Cost Accounting) and Supply Chain Management (Procurement, Inventory, Warehouse, Sales Order Processing, Master Planning).

• Business Analysis & Blueprinting: Conduct high-level discovery and in-depth business process analysis (BPA) workshops to gather and document functional and non-functional requirements. Perform comprehensive Fit/Gap analysis against D365 F&O standard functionality.

• Architecture & Governance: Define the overall solution architecture, including cross-module integration (Finance-SCM), integration with the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), Azure services (Logic Apps, Service Bus), and third-party/ISV solutions.

• Data & Migration Strategy: Design the strategy for data modeling, security roles, data migration, and the overall Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) using Azure DevOps and LCS.

2\. Project Leadership & Delivery (The Advisor)

• Guidance and Oversight: Provide architectural governance, technical oversight, and functional leadership to project delivery teams (Functional Consultants, Technical Developers, Project Managers).

• Documentation: Create high-quality solution design documents, functional specifications for configurations and customizations, and system blueprints, ensuring alignment with Microsoft best practices (e.g., FastTrack).

• Complex Problem Solving: Act as the final escalation point for complex functional, design, and cross-module issues, making critical design decisions that impact project scope and timeline.

• Quality Assurance: Define and oversee the system and user acceptance testing (UAT) strategy, ensuring the solution meets business requirements and performance standards.

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of total ERP consulting experience, with at least 5+ full lifecycle implementations of Dynamics 365 F&O (or Dynamics AX) as a Solution Architect or Lead Consultant.

• Functional Mastery (Finance & SCM): Deep functional expertise and design experience across D365 F&O's Finance modules (e.g., GL, AP, AR, Cash & Bank, Budgeting, Fixed Assets) and Supply Chain Management modules (e.g., Procurement, Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, Sales & Marketing, Master Planning).

• Microsoft Ecosystem Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the wider Microsoft stack and its integration points with D365 F&O, specifically Azure (Integrations) and the Power Platform.

• Consulting & Leadership: Exceptional communication, workshop facilitation, presentation, and team leadership skills. Proven ability to mentor and guide consulting and development teams.
