We are looking for an experienced Database Developer to join our team.

Job Description & Requirements

· Implement strategies for data security, meta-data management, data extraction, data cleansing, data transformation, data loading, and data replication/distribution in multiple database and middleware environments.

· Implement scalable, highly available, data architecture, including the deployment of technologies/concepts such as: Service Broker, perform general database maintenance activities to include backup and recovery, capacity planning, and user account / access management.

· Install and manage database system software and perform release upgrades on multiple database platforms.

· Provide technical assistance to applications staff in the use of utilities, operating systems, and tasks related to the DBMS.

· Execute development standards and operating procedures to ensure DBMS integrity.

· Generate and review statistical reports in the process of maintaining the DBMS.

· Conduct and provide trend analysis of problems and potential risks.

· Establish complete system and application back-up and audit procedures.

· Review and maintain back-up supporting system and application recovery.

· Write and maintain DBMS-related scripts.

· Manage all databases including their architecture, design, scripting, implementation, maintenance, and administration.

· Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and implementation, as business demands, in addition to the annual DR exercise.

· implement DBMS-related products.

· Perform installations, upgrades, and patching of Oracle databases.

· Perform capacity planning activities for database servers.

· Work to integrate Oracle with MS-SQL

· Establish and perform migration of application software changes.

· Maintain required documentation pertaining to DBMS activities.

· Support strategic plan for infrastructure growth and standard operating procedures while providing tactical execution.

· Develop and document support strategies, troubleshooting guidelines, and escalation procedures, supporting Enterprise computing.

· Perform cost-benefit analyses and seek lower cost support solutions.

· Perform database backups using ZDLRA and RMAN, and restoration of database backups, as needed.

· Migrate the Oracle databases from one version to another version.

· Participate in the implementation of an integrated information security strategy and controls, as defined by the WSSC IT Security team.

· Provide training and support to the application development staff to ensure that standards are met.

· Assist Oracle Application Development team with database technical support.

· Assist SAN engineer for database storage management.

· Assist Web Sphere team for database requirements.

· Attend all project and task-related business meetings.
