Job Description /Justification:
The Site B Data Center Technician will support the NJDC environment a second OTI data center which is very large, complex and needs to be managed to meet the service levels goals and objectives. The Technician will support the environment consisting of hundreds of components Network Optical Switches, Network Ethernet Switches, Routers, Gate Keepers, Route Reflectors, F5 Load Balancers, Security Firewalls, EMC Storage Devices, Backup, Brocade Switches, NetScout Monitoring Devices, ESX Server Clusters, HP Servicers, and SQL and Oracle Databases, Linux, Windows, ESX Host, telecommunications circuits, Internet, monitoring software, replication software. In addition, the Technician will follow established process and procedures which must be maintained and kept in sync with the Site A components to ensure the Active/Active or Active/Passive. Furthermore, the Technician will assist in the coordination of regularly scheduled fail-over testing planned with OTI and agency partners to ensure fail overs are successful if a disaster was to occur.
Note:
Consultants working on behalf of OTI may occasionally be required to work overtime. All overtime hours must be preapproved and submitted through the agency's official timekeeping system.
I. Technicians must submit an overtime request through the agency's timekeeping system at least 24-48 hours prior to the proposed overtime hours.
II. Supervisors will review the overtime request and provide approval based on project requirements and budgetary constraints. Approved overtime requests will be communicated back to the technician in a timely manner through the Citytime Application. (Approved or Not Approved)
SCOPE OF SERVICES:
TASKS: The Site B Remote Hand Technician will be responsible for:
• Adding equipment to support agency applications in site B Environment,
• Coordinating Site B testing with Site A technical resources.
• Monitoring the B environment.
• Rack and Stack new and replacement equipment
• Troubleshooting and resolving incidents and problems in the Data Center.
• Physically travel to and be available at Site B to perform technical changes that require a person at Site B.
• Upgrading and expanding the environment
• Performing backup and restore activities
• Manage Site B assets
• Maintaining document
• Cable Patch the equipment in the environment
• Participate in Site B fall-over testing.
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The contractor must ensure that the candidate(s) submitted has/have undergone a complete criminal history and background investigation prior to the finalization of the Task Order. Complete results of the complete criminal background investigation shall be provided to the City prior to the finalization of the Task Order.
