    Job Description

    Want to handle all the HR responsibilities for a family-owned high-end jeweler with four locations in Chicagoland? 

    They need a hands-on, technically proficient HR professional to advance the HR function. This is a newly created position. The company is a stable business with low employee turnover!  Office location is in Addison Illinois.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The HR Coordinator position:

    • Responsible for all day-to-day HR generalist responsibilities, including selection and hiring, benefits administration, payroll timekeeping and employee scheduling, employee relations, records management/HRIS, FMLA, payroll and pay administration, training, COVID protection plan coordination and workers’ compensation.

    • Advises management on HR topics, best practices and legal requirements.

    • Reports to the Director of Operations who oversees the entire business including accounting.

    • Company has about 60 employees in four locations in Chicagoland

    • This is an hourly non-exempt level position consistent with other staff.

    • This is a full-time position with company benefits.

    • You would work in the company main office 40 hours per week M - F from 9 - 5. Working from home is not available. Occasional Saturday hours may occur for special situations.

    • HR office is in Addison within several blocks of access from 355 and free on-site safe parking.        

    • Also responsible to assist with some other administration tasks as needed.

     

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 2 years of experience in an HR Coordinator, Generalist, Admin, Specialist or equivalent role

    • Prefer some experience with automated timekeeping and payroll systems- we use ADP

    • Hands-on experience processing FMLA, COBRA and benefits administration paperwork

    • Very good interpersonal and listening skills.

    • Positively interact with and support all levels of company staff.

    • Good organization skills and efficiency

    • Good role model for policy compliance and work commitment

     

    Desired:

    HR certification or recent HR education is a plus
