A well established and growing global design firm, located in Seattle, Washington, has contracted with DBI to find and hire a Higher Education Market Lead to support the establishment and growth of a new market.

This firm is unique in their aesthetic and their design approach. With a deep interest in bold design, believing that design starts with carful listening. The firm goes further, keenly incorporating data and environmental evidence to enhance spaces for their client.

The Higher Education Market Lead will be a leader in the firm, bringing a strong blend of design and technical skill the role, balancing both with clear management direction. This Principal level role will oversee a core part of this multidisciplinary firm’s organization. The firm needs a strong leader to develop strategies and operations for this growth.

The right candidate will combine business development with a strong project management and business acumen. Managing project teams while growing the firm will be major responsibilities to start.  Where the role goes from there is up to the candidate!

Required Work Experience:

 · The right candidate will be from the Seattle area with an established recognizable “name” and have a personality lending itself to successful business development and client management. Must have a proven track-record of winning work

· Success in project management, budgets, and schedules

· Comfortable with the principal-in-charge role, including overall management of Higher Education, key decision-making role, and oversight of project teams

· An understanding of the bigger picture of projects, budgets, reports, etc.

· Management is all aspect of the projects, pre-design to construction administration

· A strong background in Higher Education required and team and personality fit is important

· This is also a doing role so the candidate must be open to management of won projects

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 · Bachelors/Master’s degree in architecture

· 12 +years of Project Management experience

· Outstanding communicator

· 5 years managing large, complex higher education projects

· Strong planning and organizational skills

· Comfort with Business Development
