    Job Description

    DBI's long term client in Seattle, Washington is growing into California. A critical part of that growth a talented Junior Principal. This role will be the studio leadership for this firm's program delivery and cost management services in the Irvine office. This is THE strategic leadership for this studio in Irvine. Successful candidates will have oversight of the office and the regional practice. Drive the strategic leadership of this office and support the culture for the growing office.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide studio leadership for Irvine studio through strategic leadership of the studio and regional Practice
    • Be the liaison for the firm by visibly leading internally and externally
    • Provide professional leadership and cultural identity to the firm
    • Partner with Regional Practice / Market Leadership to secure contracts, ensure financial performance, and pursue and win new work
    • Maintain and grow client relationships on projects and opportunities
    • Will oversee the risk management for the studio by demonstrating strong understanding of contractual risks and successfully negotiating for firm's interests
    • Lead, mentor, and grow project managers and project staff
    • Responsibility for staffing decisions for the studio
    • Responsible for development of diverse project team

    Qualifications

    • Will established credentials in the industry and be regarded as an emerging industry leader
    • 15+ years, with majority of experience in commercial retail projects
    • 5 years team leadership with exposure to leading and managing a portfolio of projects across all phases
    • Ownership of client or account acquisition and leadership
    • Demonstrated success leading projects through all phases of project from feasibility/entitlements through documentation and construction administration
    • Ability to balance business performance with project delivery
    • Must be an innovative problem solver with the desire to grow into a leader
    • Current architectural registration
    • LEED or another sustainable accreditation preferred
